International guidelines recommend MDA as a treatment target for use in clinical practice,¹ and Prof. Kristensen and Prof. Behrens agree that MDA is a comprehensive and achievable treatment target.

We know that achieving MDA is linked to better outcomes for patients,² so as clinicians, it is important to identify and address hurdles to our patients achieving it.

Prof. Behrens proposes the following steps to increase rates of MDA achievement for our patients:

Early detection of PsA
Quick intervention with the aim to achieve MDA
Adapting therapy if MDA is not achieved
